The CGI science fiction movie, Absolutely Anything, is to feature the voices of John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin.  Eric Idle has not yet confirmed whether he will join the line-up.

The Pythons play a group of aliens who give a hapless human more superpower than he can handle.

Among the highlights was Under a Vest, an atmospheric, tongue-in-cheek tribute to Hitchcock, combining humour and suspense, written and directed by Kal Bonner:  As darkness falls across the city, masking the disparity between the public and private images of those in high places, one man is caught off guard when his secret self is revealed.

The theme of comedy with a dark twist surfaced in Your Dog Ate My Cat,  an animation by Claire Winter, and Sweets, directed by Anita Shukla – the tale of a mystical creature lurking in the shadows of a sweet shop, who protects the owner from harm.

By way of contrast, in this varied showcase of shorts, the winning entry, An Oral Fixation, by Kevin Gaffney, was  described by Adam Woods of Little White Lies as: ”An accomplished entry, striking an often unsettling surrealist note… Perhaps not the obvious  choice but it appealed to my darker side and really shows how effective and provocative you can be on a low budget.”

Following this cliffhanger, his ex Lisa Cuddy has left her job at the hospital, meaning the latest, and probably last, series of House is no longer graced with the presence of the luscious Lisa Edelstein.

The admirable Hugh Laurie soldiers on, still affecting the double impediment of a limp and an American accent, rehabilitated at the hospital after his spell in prison.

But something is missing: the double act which crackled into life from the opening scene when House made its debut on the Hallmark channel.

House without Cuddy is like bread without butter or, as King Lear’s Cordelia would say, meat without salt.

Will this on-off couple ever get closure? Without their banter, the show seems to have lost its spark. The last series ended with a bang, but this one has currently died down to a whimper.

Sixty Six Books marks the 400^th anniversary of the King James’ Bible with a
fresh look at our favourite tales from the Testaments.  

Among the writers taking part are Billy Bragg, Carol Anne Duffy, Sir Tim Rice and the
Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, who is better-known for his controversial religious views than his playwriting skills.

The 24 hour pass, priced at a hefty £80, is likely to appeal only to the most dedicated
theatre-goers, though this does include refreshments and a goodie bag.  

The show, which also features three and six hour performances for those of shorter attention
span, runs from October 14-28 at the Bush Theatre’s new home, the Shepherd’s
Bush library in Uxbridge Road.

The idea is to leave a book, containing a personal message explaining  what you liked about it, to pass on to another reader.

in the Guardian and Observer or downloaded from their website.)

Leave your book somewhere where it can be found, take a photo, upload it to the
Guardian’s Flickr group and geotag it to be displayed on a map,  along with thousands of others.  

A few rules of Book Swap: Make sure your book is in good condition, don’t leave
inappropriate material where it can be found by children, avoid leaving in
bookshops, libraries, or anywhere it could be damaged by the weather, and don’t
put yourself or the finder at any risk.

An exhibition which explores a range of imaginative visions that have inspired hopes and dreams and provoked fear and awe,  and investigates how science fiction has influenced scientific discovery.
